DIFFERENCES

The differences between Tennessee Whiskey and Kentucky Bourbon are not that far apart. However, there are specific differences that make the two defined differently. The first thing is the mash that they are made of. Kentucky bourbon is made of corn mash and Tennessee whiskey is made of rye mash. Tennessee whiskey is generally made from an older batch of mash. However, Kentucky Bourbon often sits longer because it is put in oak barrels. Tennessee Whiskey can be put in any barrels. The geographical differences are obvious, in the fact that each are mostly made in the states they are named after to be considered either Tennessee Whiskey or Kentucky Bourbon (Robertiello).
